A Slow, Beautiful Beginning
Hannah and Jonathan’s wedding day at The Oaks at Magnolia Springs in Gulf Shores, Alabama was the kind of celebration that feels equal parts elegant and joyful — full of meaningful details, stunning scenery, and a dance floor that stayed packed until the very end of the night.
The day began quietly, with soft anticipation in the air. I started by photographing all of Hannah’s details: her bouquet, carefully chosen jewelry, vow books, and her shoes. There’s something so special about capturing these pieces at the beginning of the day. They may seem small, but they hold so much intention. Each item was thoughtfully selected and beautifully arranged, setting the tone for everything to come.
Vows Beneath the Magnolia Tree
Hannah and her bridesmaids got ready in the separate bridal house on the property, which offered the perfect space for a relaxed and intimate morning. Hair and makeup artists moved through the room while laughter and happy nerves filled the air. Meanwhile, Jonathan and his groomsmen prepared for the day in a cozy cabin nearby. I love when venues offer separate spaces like this — it gives both sides room to settle into the day while still being close to the heart of the celebration.
The ceremony took place beneath the venue’s iconic magnolia tree, set in front of a peaceful pond that reflected the soft Alabama sky. It was truly breathtaking. The natural beauty of the setting didn’t need much embellishment — the tree’s sweeping branches framed Hannah and Jonathan perfectly as they exchanged vows. The combination of the water, the greenery, and the warm coastal air made the moment feel timeless and serene.
Celebrations & Dancing Under the Alabama Sky
After the ceremony, we stepped into golden hour — that dreamy window of light photographers always hope for — and it did not disappoint. I captured stunning portraits of Hannah by herself, her dress glowing in the soft sunlight. Then we photographed the two of them together as newlyweds, soaking in those first quiet moments as husband and wife. The way the sun dipped behind the trees and reflected off the pond created the most romantic backdrop. Those portraits are some of my favorites from the entire day.
The celebration continued in the barn, where dinner was served and heartfelt toasts were shared. The space felt warm and inviting, with everyone gathered together under one roof. Their first dances were full of emotion — a beautiful blend of tenderness and joy that had everyone smiling (and a few guests tearing up).
As the evening unfolded, the party moved behind the barn where the DJ kept the energy high, playing all of Hannah and Jonathan’s favorite songs. Guests filled the dance floor, singing along and celebrating late into the night. It was the perfect ending to a day that began with quiet anticipation and unfolded into pure joy.
Hannah and Jonathan’s wedding at The Oaks at Magnolia Springs was such an honor to document — a day rooted in beauty, intention, and a whole lot of love.
